(Heternormative culture) defaults to wham, bam, thank you ma'am.

I read something once where this guy went on at length about how he was a single guy with no life and his upstairs neighbor was a woman with a girlfriend and they would chase each other around and giggle and have noisy sex for like an hour every single night, which he enjoyed hearing. Then she got a boyfriend and it was wham, bam thank you ma'am. 

He was like "What the hell??? WHY???" 

I've long observed that uptight White American culture is more freaked out by feelings than sex per se. You can screw her, no big, but caring about her is a problem. 

If heternormative culture is rooted in post war pressure to repopulate, than the edict is "Just screw her. You don't have to like her. We don't care if you're gay and don't like women. We need children."

And the edict would be "Just screw her to try to have children." even if you are heterosexual because war is traumatic and people may not feel like emotional bonding or similar, so you're encouraged to have sex without liking it.

Heternormative culture defaults to men being in positions of power and women having none. This also encourages men to treat women and sex perfunctorily because you don't want a female spy or just random lazy bitch getting her hooks in him in a way that threatens to promote misuse of power and resources he's responsible for as a servant to the larger community. 

Heternormative culture seems to actively discourage people from having a good time and bonding under circumstances that might have consequences. You do that with whores, whether paid by the hour or a dish on the side, and if a whore gets knocked up, not his problem. 

He doesn't know if it's his. He's not taking responsibility for it. 

The genetic record suggests only half of human males reproduce and eighty percent of human females reproduce. Ergo men who have children at all are likely to have them by two women. 

Human male genitalia are also similar to primate species where big males own their females and no one else touches them. More promiscuous species trend towards larger testicles because volume of sperm production is a reproductive advantage if the chick you're banging sleeps around.

Human infants tend to look like daddy. Mom KNOWS the baby she birthed is hers. Dad only sticks around if he believes it's his child, so infants that look like daddy get a survival advantage because they are more likely to have two committed parents providing for them and raising them.

Polygamy almost always means polygyny (multiple wives) not polyandry (multiple husbands). Most likely, this is rooted in the practice of trying to repopulate after war when there's not enough men to go around and one man with four wives can make four kids in a year but one woman can only have one pregnancy at a time no matter how many husband's she has.

It also protects knowledge of paternity which is important information for longterm health of the species, which I've covered elsewhere. 

The Christian Bible has a passage criticizing "spilling your seed on the ground." In other words, criticizing someone for masturbating on grounds that it's a waste of semen to just enjoy yourself without trying to get a gal pregnant. 

We also have stories of women being encouraged to endure sex for the sake of trying to get pregnant and "Think of God and country." There's enormous evidence heternormative culture views sex as an onerous duty for purposes of reproduction and enjoying it as bad behavior. 

In the movie Six Days, Seven Nights, a character says something like "It's kind of like when someone dies and everyone has sex." This is a commonly repeated idea that when someone dies, people get laid because they feel bad.

One article I read indicated an American member of the military had four children because he intentionally got his eife pregnant every time he deployed to an active war zone because he was terrified he was going to die. People reacting to death, war or threats to their own survival is probably a survival advantage for the species but having sex for purposes of reproduction as a survival of the species advantage seems to correlate strongly to not really enjoying it and not emotionally bonding with the co-parent.

I was molested and raped as a child. I need to feel safe and secure and not squicked out to want to have sex. I think I cried after sex the first time I had sex after watching Total Recall because the mutants and body horror made me feel grossed out in a way that made me feel traumatized by trying to have a good time. 

So if the war just ended and people are traumatized and you feel your village needs replacement children, you encourage people to just do it without enjoying it and without emotional bonding or dealing with feelings when there's this mountain of negative feelings and no therapy system in an underdeveloped area. And then "Just screw her, don't deal with all this emotional stuff." becomes a widespread cultural norm which encourages men to generally be callous bastards and is defacto homophobic and misogynistic. 

Women are consigned to a role of bearing and raising children and cooking and cleaning so hubby and kids can get stuff done and everyone actively discourage her from aspiring to have a life of her own lest the entire thing fall apart. 

This goes as far as female circumcision which surgically removes the clitoris in hopes of making her not enjoy sex at all so she will be faithful.  

I no longer remember the full list, but there's something like four or five women's rights that are known to foster peace, prosperity and civilized culture. 

One is education for women. Another is reproductive rights for women. 

Cultures where her fertility is his property are cultures where women marry young, have poor education and many children. 

Reproductive rights for women are the opposite of what it may sound like. It's not the right to have children, it's the right to not have children, to say no, to have control over her body and her life.

Heternormative culture trends towards being a gun to everyone's head to reproduce and consequences be damned. It promotes rape culture, poverty and a long list of other problems that no one in their right mind should ever want.
