Well, This Was Eye Opening.

So I tripped across some video on YouTube and liked the title. She's a Black gal with an opinion and she seems interesting. 

I felt the video could have used at least one more clip of Torrance Shipman to try to more effectively communicate her point about the lead character in the movie Bring It On.

I've never seen the movie. I like the TV show Kim Possible for having a female superhero whose incredible gymnastic heroics is explained by the fact that she's a cheerleader. I like the message that of that cartoon that there's no contradiction between stereotypical girly girl and highly competent bad ass.

I did gymnastics briefly. That's a girly girl bad ass sport. I get so extremely tired of widespread cultural messaging that women can be feminine and attractive or strong and competent.

But cheerleader competitions and catty high school social dynamics aren't really my thing and prior to seeing the above clip, my only real knowledge of the film was the audition by Missy, who is auditioning because they have no gymnastics team.

So this is the first time I've ever heard this was a movie about systematic racism. Had I realized that, I might have watched it. I watched Take The Lead and Lean On Me.

So I went looking for the scene I felt should have been included in the video, above. I don't like it.

Looks like upper class White people wrote this shit. That doesn't look anything like how I stood down mouthy homeless people of color and prevented fights while standing in line at homeless services in downtown San Diego. 

That short clip has not one but two threats of a physical fight and both end without any violence and it's not convincing. It reads like upper class over privileged White assholes imagine people in the hood bluff and don't really mean it.

Why? Because rich White assholes bluff in board rooms and what not and expect you to be unwilling to call their bluff because you can't afford to find out the hard way whether or not they are full of bull.

I'm not from that class of people. I'm from gun culture where I was explicitly taught you don't ever point a gun at someone as a bluff. Period. End of sentence. Full stop.

Anyway, I'm trying to soak up this Black gal's opinions of what makes a White woman an excellent ally and halfway through she starts justifying hateful behavior by Black characters in the film and stating that Torrance is a "good ally" because she engages in behavior that in a romantic relationship would amount to professional victim status where you continue to "do the right thing" for someone pissing on you "because you are a good person."

Late in the video it more explicitly talks about good allies should understand that the Black people you are trying to do right by may not trust you or appreciate anything you have done for them and will continue to cop an attitude but you should nonetheless continue to "do the right thing."

So at this point I got intensely curious about the definition of the word ally she keeps using to apparently mean "my bitch" -- which isn't remotely what I thought that word meant -- and looked it up and the internet says:

So I'm still confused and looked up the word cooperate and got this:

So I have seen the light. When Black Americans and Native Americans talk about White allies, they don't mean anything remotely related to my understanding of the word as found in dictionary definitions.

No, they are talking about White people raised with Puritan guilt and a martyr complex desperate to have the shit kicked out of them to prove they are "good people" while they actively reward shitty behavior by saying "I understand. You can't help it because of the color of your skin."

Torrance Shipman is not your ally. She's a person of character who does what she believes is morally right and fuck you and your racist shit. 

Ally doesn't mean professional victim happy to eat shit. Because they are White and you want to claim the victim role in life because of skin color.

I'm not currently participating on any social media. I am medically handicapped and have no fucking life and years ago had real friends online as my primary social life, including an ethnically Guamanian man and a Canadian woman.

Me and most White Americans don't get along. I was thirty-two when a friendship with an Indigenous-Mexican man helped me see the light and realize I grew up in a weird little niche subculture of military culture where German immigrants and Korean immigrants were both part of the mix and my ideas of what "White Americans" are like applies to no one outside that little bubble that lives and breathes in Columbus, Georgia. 

But online I have gotten open hatred from people of color pretending they want systemic racism to end while justifying their abusive bullshit towards White people they don't really know as individuals with SHIT claims about their race-based hatred isn't "racism" because "racism" is a systemic issue.

No, it's not and people of color hating on random White people they meet is racism. It's not reverse racism. It's racism.

And this shit hurts your people because it actively alienates White people who would like things to change but have no desire to agree to be your bitch to try to "prove" they are Good People (TM) by some warped definition that boils down to masochist and fool.

I would like to live in a world where no category of person is the designated toilet we all piss on. You assholes are entirely fine with this Lord of the Flies abusive bullshit where people at the top are entitled to shit on those below them. 

You just want want to make White people especially rich White people especially especially rich White men the designated toilet while you claim the right to do the shitting. And then you act like rich White men saying "That's a big fat fucking NO from me." is evidence they are racist mother fuckers who cannot be cured of their evil.

Odds are good it means nothing to you, but I didn't get to be FLOHN by pissing on people. And even if you assholes succeed in instituting your fucked up goals of a New World Order, it won't be an improvement over THIS SHIT. 

You're playing a game of musical chairs -- or musical toilets -- and you have zero interest in changing the game. You just want your people to be the designated assholes and my people to be the designated toilets while telling me my skin is too White for me to have a legitimate interest in my father's culture.

You are exactly like the honky mother fuckers you supposedly oppose and have some kind of reverse One Drop Rule and mixed race people who are too White aren't welcome in your spaces and can expect to get nothing but hatred.

While you broadcast your expectations that if they were good people they would happily do the Christian martyr bullshit. 

FYI: Christians colonized the Americas and planned the taking of all Native lands and called it Manifesto Destiny and imported Black slaves and used the Bible to justify enslavement of Blacks.

Decent people don't want to be your bitch. They also don't want you to be their bitch.

As long as you persist in believing those are the only two possible social roles in life, you will remain surrounded by people who implicitly agree.

The solution starts with you and your mental models. No one but you can choose to change your mind.

I'm done trying to be your ally. 

I remain a person critical of the shitty system we have and you assholes will not stop me from expressing those criticisms. But don't read my writing and call me an ally and then expect me to be your bitch.
