I don't follow politics. I don't read a lot about the personal lives of Hollywood big wigs.

It has occurred to me that Morgan Freeman may be attempting to politely say something like "Obama hasn't served Black Americans as well as we imagined a Black president would."

Historically, he may get have characterized him as an Uncle Tom but that's not done anymore. That would be a Black guy aligning his self interest with the honkies in charge and pretending he's on the side of the Blacks beneath him because skin color.

1. Blacks are a minority of Americans. NO president is going to be elected solely based on their vote and their interests.

2. It's a legitimate observation that a White mother makes him culturally "mixed" in a way that not all Black Americans are.

On the one hand, it likely served to help him succeed in America. On the other hand, if you are Black and not thrilled with his politics, that may be partly because in some important ways he's NOT like you, though ethnicity isn't the issue.

And I recommend getting clearer about those distinctions and what exactly you -- whomever you may be -- are desiring to communicate.

Because all "Black Americans" are mixed race and it doesn't help your cause of trying to improve the status of this demographic to criticize Obamas ethnicity and act like "He's not really one of us." in that regard.

Some of my Pro Tips on how to win enemies and alienate people:

1. Say "George W. Bush" when some jackass wants to say "It's not racism to want to hire articulate people and therefore exclude people who happen to speak African American Vernacular English."

Read up on linguistics and learn something about the rich history behind some of that. It's not pithy but people who think AAVE is a mark of ignorance or similar know nothing about language.

Anyway, we seem to have no problem hiring inarticulate White people, so come again about how you, sir, are somehow NOT a racist?

2. Educate yourself about the realities of ethnicity in the US. Most people here are mixed heritage and our Census is self reported. So whatever stats they want to throw at you: Bullshit. I ain't buying it, fool.

3. Learn about the One Drop Rule and the Pocahontas Exception and how many people today who think they are part Native are actually part Black and repeating the lies their grandparents told them for their own good in a country that was STILL lynching Blacks up until I was three years old and officially defined anyone with a single drop of African blood as not White.

4. My part Native father told racist jokes, probably to signal to White people "I'm not one of them." ASK every openly racist jackass you meet who wants to pick a fight to provide evidence he or she really and for true is ENTIRELY Caucasian. No, you don't want to hear the lies their grandparents told on the Census to avoid being lynched, thanks. Nor is 23andme adequate.

You want to be a White Supremacist? Burden of proof that YOU are pure blood is on YOU. And I'm guessing a LOT of the most virulent racists cannot provide such proof and many aren't really 100 percent Caucasian.

Anyway, I spent a lot of years trying to wash off my gift for being an equal opportunity offender. That's enough for me for the moment.
