Gender Stuff in Merika

I'm increasingly seeing articles suggesting we don't need to worry about overpopulation ruining the planet because we are on track for a population bust so bad we could die out as a species in relatively short order.

Then the descendants of the Mormons may live on, laugh at the extinction of the rest of us badly behaved fools and they shall inherit the Earth.

That's a long, relatively polite piece saying pretty much the same thing as this piece.

I don't have a problem per se with what very little I know of Mormon marital practices insofar as I don't per se have a problem with a big age difference nor with girls marrying young.

I think the US generally treats women terribly and most women are defacto financially dependent on their husband regardless of what age they are when they marry. And in all heterosexual marriages across the US, the man is typically several years older than her.

The logical conclusion is that Mormons are kind of a real world version of Gor books being mocked.

Gor books are a BDSM fantasy where all women are innately submissive and the height of sexual bliss is between a slave girl and her male owner.

People MOCK that openly, as if to say implicitly "Our women aren't literally slaves. They have it so good. That's a ridiculous and abusive scenario and clearly different from what we really do." though it's not that different from how we actually treat women.

The unstated subtext of so much of America picking on those "weirdos" -- The Mormons -- is that OUR marriages where OUR men are older than OUR women and defacto own them as property are FINE because the girls weren't fourteen when we married them off and that somehow makes it totally different from our BILLIONAIRE president and his wife who is 24 years younger than him.

What Mormons do is not REALLY that different in outcome from what the rest of America does. It's a difference that doesn't really make a difference.

If women had meaningful rights in this country, Hillary and Kamala would have both won against Donald Trump. They didn't.

I believe he tampered with all three elections he ran in. There are multiple felony convictions against him for the first two agreeing with that opinion.

I believe he won against two women and lost against a man (who turned out to be a lousy president) because he did more election tampering against the women, counting on the country to find it plausible that people would rather vote for him, as insane as that is, than for a woman.

My understanding is that there are far more felony convictions against him in his presidential run against Hillary than in the presidential run against Joe.

As a clueless outsider who knows NOTHING about Mormon culture, I will admit that it is entirely possible that Mormon women are better off than other American women IF, as a conservative religious sect, they don't allow their men to cavalierly kick their wives to the curb and replace them with a NEW, younger model on a whim. 

The rest of Merika doesn't take that "Til death do us part." clause remotely seriously anymore. Tis to laugh!
